Clonbinane is tucked beside the Hume Highway, just
an overpass away from Broadford in Victoria.

Off the highway, you quickly enter low hills,
and if you take the right turn, (the local tourist map we had was characteristically obscure),
you'll end up in a valley with mostly modern houses layered up one side of
a hill, rising from a creek and single lane bridge at the bottom.
At the top of the hill, just beyond the town edge is 'Warialda', the belted Galloway stud of Alan
and Lisette Snaith. I'd met them at Terra Madre, the big Slow Food
event in Turin, and this was time to catch up. |
