There wasn't an ugly journalist in the
joint. Maybe 'plain' doesn't hack it in the world of celebrity food media
or perhaps they all just scrubbed up particularly well for this special night. The best frocks,
best smiles and best
cleavages were presented for the camera at the Four
Seasons Hotel Sydney on September 30. Given the celebrity mix on the tables, the
audience was just as good looking as those on stage.
Greg Pickhaver in his 'H.G. Nelson' persona was the MC and took the mickey
out of our food pretensions, as well as all the sponsors and kept up the pace for
what was a long list of presentations. He also made every winner's photo
session a silly event as you'll see from following pages. (My favourite
is the one on the last page with a captivated
Margaret Fulton.)

It was a good night - there was an official photographer but these seem
to capture the fun.
