"This was the mulberry stack that we do. Little meringues with almond flakes through them, a stack with cream, fresh mulberries, another layer of meringue, cream, mulberries and then just a mulberry sauce spilled over the top.

"The mulberry trees are the most highly guarded fruit in the district. A very clever poacher, (which I am), needs to bribe the owner of the tree with lots of gallons of wine…they’re not easy to come by."
