Dinner was in the winery, a
barn that was built in 1853 and the table set
amongst olive presses that were decommissioned in
1973.
Historically, the Chapel Hill Chapel and the State
heritage listed Seaview homestead were all one
property. On the Seaview homestead was an old dairy,
a workers hut and cottage. And this old barn which
looks like it might have been accommodation at one
stage but Justin thinks it was probably originally
just a blacksmiths store.
The outside verandah of the winery doubles as a
makeshift kitchen. There are a couple of ring
burners, a barbecue and a Weber which Justin claims
"means you can cook just about anything…as long as
you’ve got someone like Peter Hogg on board." |
