Eat Food. Not too Much. Mostly plants.

We've got a review of Michael Pollan's Omnivores Dilemma in our next issue, but the way these things work, his new book arrived from Amazon a week ago. I started into In Defense of Food immediately, and then final proofing intervened (and as soon as that finished, there were lots of things like mowing the lawn that needed to be done). I'll let you know more as I get to the end of it.

I was working on the new Farmers' Markets site when I checked a quote from Joan Gussow and found this video where they discuss the book. The book is more like an essay and if you've bought into the eat regional, seasonal argument already, it's a persuasively pleaded argument which you won't need, except you may be convinced to cut down on meat. Pollan's manifesto is summed up in the heading to this blog, and you'll understand when you watch the video.
